Potential Exposure to COVID-19 at Youth Girls Basketball Tournament

Lyon County, Kansas – On June 25, 2020, Kansas Department of Health and Environment notified Lyon County Public Health that a player tested positive for COVID-19 that attended a youth girls basketball tournament in Parkville, Missouri on Saturday, June 20th. Lyon County Public Health wants to ensure the safety of our Lyon County Residents by notifying attendees who participated in this event of the potential exposure. Tournament details are as follows:

Lyon County Public Health has contacted the known close contacts of the positive player to notify them of the potential exposure and ask them to quarantine for 14 days from the date of contact. Attendees of the tournament are strongly encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Lyon County Public Health wants to remind our community that if anyone is experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough, chills, muscle pain, fatigue, headache, congestion, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell or difficulty breathing, please call our COVID-19 Hotline (620) 208-3741 to get tested.
